Bamberg, South Carolina (May 2018) –  The Center for Heirs’ Property announced that it will host a Property Seminar for Bamberg County residents on Saturday, June 2 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Denmark Public Library. The seminar will provide information on the risks, rights, and responsibilities of owning heirs’ property. Additionally, attendees will learn how to make their land more sustainable and profitable.

The Center for Heirs’ Property Preservation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit with a mission to protect heirs’ property and promote its sustainable use to provide increased economic benefit to historically under-served families through legal education and services, and sustainable forestry education, technical assistance and resources. The organization is based in Charleston, SC, but has office locations to serve Bamberg County residents in both Allendale and Orangeburg Counties. Starting in June 2018, the Orangeburg County office will have a full-time attorney.  A forester is also available in both the Orangeburg and Allendale county offices.

“Bamberg County residents are fortunate to have this opportunity to learn about heirs' property which is often an important issue in probate estates. The Center for Heirs’ Property is a valuable resource for Bamberg County residents in planning for the sustainability and profitability of these properties for the owners,” stated Joey Preston, Bamberg County Administrator.
